Bulgarian Internet users are subject to a foreceful SPAM attack. According to the Cyber Security Department at GDCOC, users receive emails on their mail boxes. They are in Bulgarian and inform the users that hackers have access to their operating systems and threaten to disseminate personal information about them. In order to prevent this, they are required to pay 1,100 BGN in the form of bitcoins within 72 hours.
Let all citizens ignore and not trust such messages, it is a pure SPAM attack aiming to force users to pay without a reason.
Users are advised to install reliable antivirus programs and licensed operating systems. All similar cases should be reported to the respective IT company, IT service provider or to the competent structures at the Ministry of Interior.
